TECHNOLOGY AND ROBOTICS

Technology and Robotics Program

The technology curriculum is designed to expose learners to emerging technology and reinforce the basics of computer use and digital citizenship. Grades 3-8 have 1:1 Chromebooks. Grades TK-5 participate in a technology class once a week. Grades 6-8 participate in a core Robotics class as part of the technology program.

Through project-based learning, students are challenged to solve problems in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (S.T.E.M.).

The Innovation Lab ... A space to think, create, and collaborate!

Innovation Lab and Robotics

The innovation lab at Laurel Hall is a hands-on learning space where students are encouraged to get creative and approach the unknown with confidence through the lens of technology.

In the innovation Lab, classroom curriculum comes alive with activities aimed at inspiring creativity and innovation in our learners while providing a deeper understanding of subject matter. Attention to higher order thinking and critical analysis drive students to become invested in their own learning.

Our middle school students participate in a core robotics class.

PC / Mac Lab

The PC and Mac Labs are shared resource centers

for all grade levels.

The PC Lab is the main technology learning space

for kindergarten through 3rd grade. It is where young learners become proficient with the basics of computer use and etiquette. It is also home to other groups including the yearbook team and foreign language classes.

The Mac Lab is the third and newest addition to the technology learning spaces. All iMacs in the lab are loaded with the Adobe Creative Cloud software.
